As an upgrade to existing facilities, MMA expanded the Pediatric Emergency Department into an old, previously under-utilized, portion of
the hospital dating from the 1930’s
This renovation included:
- 5 new Asthma stations
- 5 new holding beds
- 1 new isolation room
- 1 new gynecological exam suite
- new medication room
- 2 new bathrooms
- entirely new nurses station to more than double the size of the existing Pediatric facility
All of the mechanical systems were upgraded to include a new air handler, new medical gas systems, and perimeter heating. A majority of this work was performed in close conjunction with the Hospital Staff so as to minimize the effect on patient care.
As an addition to the building, MMA created two new waiting rooms and three new bathrooms segregated for both adult and pediatric emergency patients. This was a one-story addition that combined seamlessly with the existing facility.
